It's basically just a prop for Alex Riley to carry similiar to the Money in the Bank case. Probably because they liked how the Miz used the briefcase as a weapon more than any other holder of the briefcase in history. At the end the Briefcase was so beaten up it could probably barley hold a contract in it if a real contract was actually in it. All I know is that starting this Monday, as a result of this thread, I'm going to be paying much more attention to how Alex Riley holds the briefcase, what he does with the briefcase, what comes out of the briefcase Im not sure why anyone would want to carry their title belt around in a briefcase I would be wearing that baby everywhere.
Find More Posts by ooTin. The week after he won the title made absolutely no sense as he was wearing the title and Alex Riley had the red MITB case. I don't like that he carries the red case since it was cashed in and I don't understand how people think Miz and A-Ri have talent. The silver one he had last week, was indeed carrying the title around.
However, that wasn't established on TV. On the PPV, in a backstage interview the case was opened and the title was in it. Gives him something extra to do. A little extra to being Miz's bitch. Originally Posted by Wolfpack Originally Posted by Jura.

When he landed, the briefcase broke open, revealing it was empty.
Yeah true but they never actually open the case to hand them the contract it's just supposed to be in the case. It's as if he cashed it in but is allowed to do it again when he loses haha. It's nothing more than to plug the PPV and the match itself and to act as a weapon since clearly Miz can't win on his own. Originally Posted by XCaliber. Originally Posted by Poit.

Sure, Riley might carry around the title in it sometimes, or some papers, or whatever -- but I'm sure the intent is there to use it as a tool. Stop reading so much into it. It's no longer got a valid contract inside it. I'm more confused as to why the fuck Alex Riley isn't considered an official member of the Raw roster.
I suppose he's technically employed by The Miz and not Raw, but that same logic could be used for Ricardo Rodriguez being employed by Alberto Del Rio, yet he's listed as a SmackDown guy.
Not that it matters or anything Not being a Raw roster member doesn't keep the GM from booking Riley freely every week. I actually love that they gave him another case. It didn't made sense carrying around the MITB case anymore, but Miz used the case itself to perfection. As long as it doesn't become overused which doesn't seem to be the case [no pun intended] it's perfect. Although the battle-worn case was awesome. Originally Posted by Noid. If anything, once this is done, they'll be on separate shows With Randy Orton there as a "face," you need a counterpart, and Miz fits the bill. I see a lot of potential with Alex Riley, no doubt about it, but he still needs to climb that ladder, and The Miz will teach him a lesson in humility.
He is in need of a serious victory now. One that matters and holding that briefcase is the way to shut all the critics up and stick it to Riley. The Miz vs. Alex Riley match would light up the pay-per-view card. I hope they pull out all the stops.
I pray it is without mercy. He is the one with experience here. It has been beaten and worn, used as a weapon on a number of occasions and added something to their presence. Last night, though, Riley walked around with a new, clean, unmarked silver briefcase with no definition.
He just had it to have it without explanation. If it were something that he carried to the ring with the belt inside, only to have Miz open it and show it to the audience, then it would have purpose. If it became a signature weapon of choice, much like the sledgehammer is for HHH or the pipe seems to be for Sheamus, I could see a reason for him carrying it. Somebody told that producer that Riley needed to carry the briefcase. So much thought goes into so many parts of the show that it amazes me how such obvious details are ignored.
I was legitimately excited when Kidd and his bodyguard Jackson Andrews interrupted Daniel Bryan backstage. Two young, technical wrestlers feuding over the midcard strap is makes mids wrestling dorks like me giddy.
