Also, how do you kiss to not disappoint a person that has experience? How do you see a kiss coming? At first, we were coddled and comforted.

I like my life. For so long, I convinced myself that my lack of romantic experience was my own fault. A first kiss seems like such a small thing, but for so long, it meant everything to me. For the next 18 months after that, I was in and out of hospital having physiotherapy. Because of that I never got on a bike. I was scared of breaking my arm again, it was that bad. I was always nervous playing football, too.

After I passed my driving test I was able to drive all over the country, and I go everywhere by car. I use a breathing machine at night.

I also never learned to swim. We can be aware of our thoughts they tend to be mostly negative and by not giving them attention but instead focusing our minds on what we are doing in the moment, we can achieve a gradual diminution of these self-critical thoughts and gain a sense of freedom. To put this more succinctly, follow the advice you would give to someone in a similar situation — your own wisdom would tell them to have fun, enjoy life and trust that with openness and optimism, they will connect with someone great when the time is right.
